Loosing either one tooth or multiple teeth may affect the integrity of the remaining teeth. 

Consequences of not replacing missing teeth can include: 

-Overeruption of the opposing teeth.

-Drifting of the posterior teeth.  

-Loss of posterior occlusion.  

-Splaying of the anterior teeth.
